Education:

Maya qualified with honours as a dentist in 1998 and completed postgraduate qualification in Conservative dentistry and Endodontics in 2000. She came to England and gained her statutory qualification in 2004 and she was awarded membership to Faculty of Dentists of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in the same year.

Experience:

Maya has worked as a Senior House Officer in Maxillofacial Surgery in 2002, as a Senior House Officer in Restorative Dentistry at the Liverpool Dental Hospital in 2003. She joined the Community dental service in the New Forest in 2005 where she treated children, adults and patients with special medical needs. Having worked as a general dentist in both NHS and private practices in Bursledon and Winchester since 2006, Maya has a strong foundation in general dentistry.

Professional Interests:

Maya's treatment approach is up-to date, evidence based, minimally invasive and patient centred. She has a special interest in preventive dentistry, cosmetic dentistry and restoration of dental form and function.

Personal Interests:

Outside of work, Maya enjoys Yoga and Pilates. She enjoys travelling and exploring diverse cultures and cuisines; enjoys entertaining and spending time with her family and friends. Maya is married to Deepak Komath who is training to be a maxillofacial surgeon and they live in Salisbury with their son.
